New Latest REVIEW OF 2023 Monica, O My Darling Starring Rajkummar Rao

 Synopsis:

Rajkummar Rao stars as Jayant Arkhedkar, a Board of Director at Unicorn, a robotics company. Jayant is about to marry Nikki, the CEO’s daughter, but is also involved in an affair with Monica Machado (Huma Qureshi), who works at the same company. When Monica becomes pregnant and begins blackmailing Jayant for money, he discovers that the CEO’s son and another colleague are also involved with Monica and the three men decide to kill her. The rest of the film follows their attempts to dispose of Monica and the complications they encounter.

Positive Points:

Achint Thakkar’s retro-style music adds a unique touch to the film and the background score enhances the excitement in the second half. The screenplay in the second half is fast-paced and keeps the audience engaged until the end. The performances from the cast, particularly Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Radhika Apte, are strong. The inclusion of a new genre, neo-noir crime comedy thriller, is also appreciated.

Negative Points:

The film may not appeal to all audiences due to its niche genre and some may find it silly. The first half hour is not engaging and the character development of the lead cast could be better. The violence and open ending may also be off-putting for some viewers.

Technical Aspects:

The music and cinematography are highlights of the film, but there are issues with the Telugu dialogues. The production values are sufficient, and the editing is crisp. Vasan Bala’s direction in the second half is enjoyable, but he could have paid more attention to the setup of the story and character development.

Overall, Monica, O My Darling offers a unique experience with twists and quirky comedy, but may not appeal to all audiences. The performances are strong, but the first half is weak and there are a few issues with the film’s genre and execution. Those looking for something different and unconventional may enjoy this film.
